In the beginning – Wherein I ramble about myself

Welcome to my website, my little space to talk about whatever is on my mind and divulge some of my own life experiences.

There’s already a section where I talked a bit about myself, but since this is the internet (which means narcissism is the order of the day) I’ll go ahead and talk about myself some more!

I’ve lived in the south-eastern region of the US longer than I’ve lived anywhere else, but I don’t know if I’ll ever really call it ‘home.’ After graduating high school I joined the Marines and very quickly learned that it was not for me.

After completing my time on active duty I lazed about for a bit, then decided to go to college. Turns out that my distaste for academia didn’t change while I was in the service, but I still managed to graduate with a BS in History. The most valuable thing I learned in college was from a class on poverty where we spent time reading volume 1 of Capital by Karl Marx. We established that whatever someone receives for an hourly wage is a direct statement of what their manager thinks their life is worth.  That being said, no one values my time (and thus my life) as much as I do.

And that realization is what got me into voice acting. I don’t want to be plugging away at some job that I hate trying to rack up benefits only to be forced to retire and work 2-3 part-time jobs since retirement’s a myth anyway.

No. I’d rather spend my time collaborating in a creative space, helping people bring their visions to life and providing joy and entertainment to those who need a distraction from the everyday. I haven’t found any professional work yet, but I am currently taking part in a twitch live stream of Dungeons and Dragons every Sunday. Check it out on http://www.twitch.tv/Off_thetable.
