Focus on what you do have, because that is all you have to offer people.<\/p>\n

So many of us are held back by these barriers we build in front of ourselves<\/a>. One of them is believing that we don’t have enough, or anything to offer. <\/p>\n

If we take a few genuine moments to think about ourselves in a positive way, we begin to realize that we actually do have something to offer. <\/p>\n

For example, I recently started a voiceover business. <\/p>\n

How am I going to sell myself? <\/p>\n

I don’t have any clients. I have no portfolio. How will anyone know what I have to offer? <\/p>\n

While all of those things were true when I started, I certainly did (and still do) have things to offer.<\/p>\n

Sure, I have a passion for voiceover. I can deliver the job with excellent customer service in a short amount of time.
\nEverybody can do that though. <\/p>\n

What do I have that others don’t?
\nI have broadcasting experience. I also have professional voice over training. In addition, I can deliver broadcast quality audio from my home studio. <\/p>\n

Doesn\u2019t that sound much better? <\/p>\n

Are you ready for me to voice a project<\/a> for you, yet? (shameless plug) <\/p>\n

Once you understand and embrace your own value, it makes it much easier to go out into the world with confidence. <\/p>\n

If you are starting something new, you certainly don’t have the experience of others who started earlier than you did.
\nDon’t let that stop you. <\/p>\n

Carve out some quiet time and reflect on things you’ve done that have led up to this point. If you are honest with yourself, you will likely come up with a list of positive attributes that can serve as a solid starting point. <\/p>\n

So, focus on what you do have. <\/p>\n

You don’t need to have everything when you get started, you just need enough to get started. <\/p>\n
