Focus on what you DO have

Focus on what you do have

Focus on what you do have, because that is all you have to offer people.

So many of us are held back by these barriers we build in front of ourselves. One of them is believing that we don’t have enough, or anything to offer.

If we take a few genuine moments to think about ourselves in a positive way, we begin to realize that we actually do have something to offer.

For example, I recently started a voiceover business.

How am I going to sell myself?

I don’t have any clients. I have no portfolio. How will anyone know what I have to offer?

While all of those things were true when I started, I certainly did (and still do) have things to offer.

Sure, I have a passion for voiceover. I can deliver the job with excellent customer service in a short amount of time.
Everybody can do that though.

What do I have that others don’t?
I have broadcasting experience. I also have professional voice over training. In addition, I can deliver broadcast quality audio from my home studio.

Doesn’t that sound much better?

Are you ready for me to voice a project for you, yet? (shameless plug)

Once you understand and embrace your own value, it makes it much easier to go out into the world with confidence.

If you are starting something new, you certainly don’t have the experience of others who started earlier than you did.
Don’t let that stop you.

Carve out some quiet time and reflect on things you’ve done that have led up to this point. If you are honest with yourself, you will likely come up with a list of positive attributes that can serve as a solid starting point.

So, focus on what you do have.

You don’t need to have everything when you get started, you just need enough to get started.
