Earlier this week, TMZ.com reported that voice actor Joe Alaskey has passed away at the age of 63. His voice heard all throughout 90’s cartoons; most noticeably several characters of the Looney Tunes (Bugs Bunny, Daffy Duck, Tweety, Yosemite Sam) and Grandpa Lou from Nickelodeon’s Rugrats.

What makes him unique and monumental in the voice-over industry is that he filled pretty big shoes from 1990-1995. He was the great “Man of a Thousand Voices” Mel Blanc’s successor for the Looney Tunes.

Most recently, he was also the narrator for Investigation Discovery’s show “Murder Comes To Town” which has been on the air since 2014.
Other roles that Alaskey has voiced include “Flaps the Elephant” on Bonkers, “Droopy” in three Tom and Jerry movies (“Robin Hood and His Merry Mouse”, “Giant Adventure”, and “Spy Quest” and also was the voice of President Richard Nixon in the Academy Award-winning “Forrest Gump” starring Tom Hanks.

Some of these voices that you see in this article I grew up watching and tried to emulate in my pursuit in becoming a voice-actor. He will truly be missed.
